This Americana stuff is pretty good, isn’t it? Well, we’re going to get a lot of practice with it going forward, so we figured it’s worth another ten-set again this week. LOVE AND SMOKE is getting our own radio show, and it’s going to be flooded with Americana. We’re still working out the details, but we’re going to have a weekly late-night/overnight show on K-TIMe 89.1 FM KTIM in La Grange, Texas. Yes, the town that ZZ Top and chickens and the oldest profession made famous. It’ll be focused mostly on this broad Americana music category, tentatively titled LOVE, SMOKE, AND AMERICANA. With an occasional focus on one artist. Sprinkled with a Jimi Hendrix collection or hits from Iceland every once in a while just to shake things up.
So, why is a California BBQ company doing a radio show in Texas? This is the Internet Age baby, and there ain’t no radio-wave fences anymore. (Well mostly. And there are other reasons.) You don’t have to be driving around La Grange at 2:00 in the morning to be able to hear it. (Although that’s not such a bad idea. A lot more peaceful than doing it in San Francisco.) KTIM broadcasts online using the TuneIn player on their website (http://www.ktim.org) as well as via the TuneIn app. So take a another dose of Americana and enjoy this fine Friday afternoon. We’ll have news soon on when the radio show will begin regular broadcasts. Have a terrific weekend everyone. Oh, and GO WARRIORS.
